The telephone network interface (NID, DMARC) is usually located on the outside of the house. The NID has a "test jack" to allow customers to test their service. You will need:
1. access to the telephone network interface (NID, DMARC)
2. a flat head screw driver
3. a non-damaged phone cord (the cord from the modem kit or one that is less that 15 ft long)
4. a DSL modem w/ power cord
5. a power outlet for the modem, sometimes located near the NID, if not, you will need an extension cord
