1. Setup an EXEC password using Cisco Commander software.
To access the cisco using telnet, an EXEC password is required. If your Cisco has a EXEC password setup (and you know it) you can skip this step.- Setting up an EXEC password on a Windows computer

2. Telnet to the Cisco.
Windows XP- 1. Click Start > Run > Type telnet 10.0.0.1 > Click OK, then go to step 2
By default, Windows Vista and Windows 7 do not have Telnet clients installed. To install telnet:
- 1. Click Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or off (located on left nav), select telnet option > Click Start > then type telnet 10.0.0.1 in the search and hit enter.
- 2. At the blinking cursor type in your EXEC password and press enter.
- 3. When your screen displays cbos > you are ready to program your modem.
- 1. Open Hard Drive from the Desktop > Applications > Utilities > select Terminal
3. Setup.
